Go with the Flow!

Good music, good food and good company – that is the recipe for an excellent weekend = Flow Festival 8.-12.8.2012!

In August 2004 a little music festival was organised right in the heart of the city by the old warehouses in front of the Parliament building. I remember the steamy atmosphere inside the small rooms packed of dancing people. Today Flow Festival has grown to be a four day long spectacle with 63 000 visitors. But the same cosy feeling remains – just the size of the bike parking area has increased.

Since 2007 Flow Festival takes place in an old industrial area of Suvilahti. In Suvilahti there used to be several power plants, of which the first one was built already in 1909 and designed by architect Selim A. Lindqvist. Behind the bicycle parking you can see the only power station still in use – the station B, designed by Timo Penttilä in 1970s.

The last ones to occupy the main stage were Feist and Björk – what an amazing ending to a wonderful weekend!
