Chain that unites the European nations

Kimmo Kaivanto's "Chain"

I worked for the preliminary elections to the European Parliament at the Helsinki city hall for the passed seven days. The very first day I decided to take one photo each day and chose Kimmo Kaivanto’s sculpture called Chain as my object. The sculpture is formed by huge bend fingers that together form a chain. Above on the ceiling and below on the floor there are huge mirrors so it seems that the chain is endless. The very last day I noticed that the sculpture is dedicated to the friendship between the European nations – what a perfect coincidence! Every day I tried to find a new angle to picture it, and here is the result.

I am trying to look at these photos carefully to really figure out what they are all about 🙂 The mirror on the ceiling makes it so meaningful as you said: the endless chain.
