There is a new landmark in Helsinki: a 40 meter high Finnair Sky Wheel! It was opened to public this spring and offers truly great (but rather blue) views. It is located at Katajanokka right next to the Market Square so from the wheel you can see the city and the islands in front of it. The ride costs 12 € from adults and 9 € from children aged 3-11 years. Salty price, but hey – it’s not every day that you feel like a tourist in your own home town! In a hot summer day it was lovely to go for a ride in an air-conditioned cabin and listen to Diana Ross singing “Upside down, You are turning me, You’re giving love instinctively, Around and round you’re turning me”.
