Since 1952 this ferry has been running between Helsinki Market square and Suomenlinna maritime fortress. The ferry goes even during the coldest months when the Baltic sea freezes. I love the ride – the views and the sound of crushing

This is a portrait of three red peppers – three graces. Represented in plastic, as that is how most of get our peppers today.
After a busy Monday I (had not taken any new photos and I) needed a break. So I decided to travel back in time, to summer 2010 and days spent in Berlin with my loved ones.
Frozen rivers are unpredictable, as the water runs underneath the ice revealing its power only by the rapids. By these frozen rapids of Vanhakaupunki (=old town) Helsinki was originally founded in 1550.
Maternal love – that is how this charming sculpture by Emil Cedercreutz is called. It was elected as the most loved statue by helsinkians in 2008. I can relate to that.
“They are digging a hiding place for a sheep.” At least, if you ask from my two-year-old.
